BLUE RIDGE PARKWAY TRAIL GUIDE

Several miles of the Blue Ridge Parkway run through Haywood County.  There are a number of trails in this section classified from easy to strenuous.  Some are accessible right from the road and some are trailheads that can only be reached by driving along a paved spur road. The Waterrock Knob overlook is a favorite of photographers and star gazers. The large parking lot offers a 360 degree panoramic view and is great for both sunrise and sunset photographs. At night, many with telescopes spend the night, getting a closer look at the stars and constellations.
