As you would expect, the area teems with mountain crafts of all kinds. Our local artisans make and sell quilts, and jewelry made from native stones.  They can offer hand carved furniture and hand-thrown pottery. Plus, being located just a few minutes from the Cherokee Indian Reservation, we also have lots of Cherokee Indian crafts.  You can look for bargains at roadside stalls and in flea markets. You can find exquisite crystal and collectibles at a variety of gift shops.  You can buy beautiful painting of mountain scenery and wild life at numerous galleries. One of our stores has a magnificent year-round Christmas shop with fully decorated trees and a complete line of Department 56 collectibles. Another can sell you all flavors of candy out of a barrel. Yet another specializes in earth-friendly art, including lots of Native American paintings, sculptures, and jewelry. There's even a store that has a variety of sizes and types of bird houses, designed to attract all manner of  birds to your backyard.
